Today’s post is a short soapbox moment.
In my last post, I talked about Steve Jobs and the influence that he had on technology and education. At one point, back in the 1970s, Steve Jobs stood on the shoulders of giants, and he saw further than most at the time.
Today, Jobs is one of those giants, and we are standing on his shoulders. The question we have to ask ourselves is whether we see further, or if we are merely conforming to their vision. It’s not that their vision is bad; it is just that its limited to their context. Today’s generation has a much more advanced starting point, and we do them, ourselves, and the next generation a disservice if we do not look beyond the limits of their vision.
