Since I’ve been on the topic of Magic: the Gathering lately, I want to take a moment to talk about Magic Set Editor 2.
Magic Set Editor 2 is a free collectable card game organization program that allows you to create, organize, and print collectible card games. The program comes with basic templates for several collectible card games, such as Magic the Gathering, Legend of the Five Rings, and Versus System. In addition to the standard card types, fans have created a library of alternate card colors, such as purple and orange.
With Magic set editor you can create your own Fan set of Magic the gathering, as “The Magic Show’s” Evan Erwin has done, create your own Legend of the Five Rings clan based on the Wu Tang Clan, or your own Versus team based on the Watchmen. You can also create your own games, and use the program to document your revisions.
I’ve been using Magic Set Editor to document my expansion to Age of Heroes, a single player card game that plays similar to Magic: the Gathering. Once I learned to use the code, I was able to get the look and feel that I desired out of the cards. I will likely use it to produce my final set.
If you would like to make tabletop card game, then consider using Magic Set Editor to organize your designs. You’ll be happy that you did.
