I realized that I’ve been spending a lot of time making images related to the blog entries, but not much time on artwork for Age of Heroes. I decided this weekend to focus on one of the pieces for the game.
Today’s image is a character named Kaos Lewan. Her ability in the game is very similar to the spell slayer in the old Complete Sha’ir’s Handbook in second edition D&D.
My original piece for this card was freaking terrible. I can’t believe that, at one time, I thought this looked good:

This was meant to be a first person view of the wizard whose magic is fizzling. Yeah. Didn't work out so well.
I later considered making her more ninja-like, as the class was portrayed in the book. Along with Mini Ninjas, it was this character that motivated me to produce this image months ago.
As I was looking through Renderosity, however, I came across the Piper texture and morph set for V4, and realized that I wanted to go with a sylvan look for the character. I didn’t buy the set however (though I may buy it one day in the future). Instead, I modified the texture from one of the other skins in Photoshop. In general, I’m happy with how it came out.
In other news, I’m pretty excited about class starting tomorrow. I’ve ramped up to a full load this semester, and I think it is going to be a fun time. At the very least, I will get more exposure to Second Life. Perhaps one day I will get it, if such a thing is possible.
