I know that my last post dug into WWCC Chicago, but there was one other thing I wanted to add.
At Comic-Con, the celebrity guests seemed somewhat inaccessible. They were at the end of the hall right next to a loud stereo system that made it all but impossible to talk. In addition, there were staff members everywhere actually preventing people from getting photographs of the celebrities. It just seemed that their handlers were driving people away.
This is in stark contrast to Gen-Con. Even with the huge line to the guest celebrities, they went out of their way to make people feel welcome. Wil Wheaton, Felicia Day, Robin Thorsen, Sandeep Parikh, and Jeff Lewis were fantastic. In fact, each of them gave me an on-camera intro for the show!
If you want to see TV celebrities, then go to Comic-Con; if you are looking for people passionate about gaming, then Origins, Gen-Con, and PAX are the places to be.
