I paid for my spot in the Origins Art Show last week, and I picked up my first set of prints over the weekend.
Shortly before I made my first animated video, I heard a certain prominent radio talk show host say the following about his (then) upcoming television show:
“I have two goals with this show. I want to look back on the first episode, one week after it airs, and not be embarrassed by it. Then, I want to look back on the first episode, one year after it airs, an be embarrassed by it.”
Regardless of what one thinks of this talk show hosts political views, this is as solid approach to take with any project.
I looked at my first pieces of artwork and my first animation in the same way. For my videos, it didn’t take a full year. I’ll see how I feel about his show in a year. If anyone is going to Origins, look me up in the art show.
